FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 Making & Receiving Calls

Am I limited to only making and receiving calls from other people with broadband phones?
No. The beauty of broadband phones is that you get to call anyone at any phone number at a much lower rate then traditional phone lines. In addition, all calls made to another Times Telecom member are absolutely free of charge. You can actually save an enormous amount of money when you apply for 2 or more Times Telecom phone numbers within the same area code. Keep one, and send the other(s) to a remote friend or relative.

Is the dial pattern different when I make a call on my broadband phone?
No. Simply dial the phone number as you would with a traditional phone service:

International Calls
Dial 011 + country code + phone number.
You can view our low international rates here.

Canada & United States
Dial the area code + phone number.

Encourage your friends and family to sign up to Times Telecom as well. That way, you will be able to benefit from unlimited member to member calling – even if they reside in another country.

Why can't I make any international calls?
You should be able to make international calls if your account status is active and in good standing. On the other hand, if your account has been suspended, you will not be able to make international calls. You can verify your account status by accessing your account portal or contacting customer service.

Make sure that you have properly dialed the international phone number, using this dialing method: Dial 011 + country code + phone number. Keep in mind that you may have to wait a few seconds before your international call is routed to its destination. Allow 60 seconds of dead air before you cancel an international call.

I am unable to dial certain toll free numbers.
You may not be able to dial some toll free numbers if they are regional toll free numbers instead of national. Regional toll free numbers system may recognize calls routed via the Internet as a long distance call and may block such calls.

Can I still use the Internet while making calls?
