VOIP & YOUR INTERNET

What is a broadband or high-speed Internet connection?
Broadband Internet connection is a modem service that transmits data, voice, and video simultaneously at speeds approximately four times faster than a modem using a standard digital telephone line, such as Dial Up Internet access. There are several types of broadband Internet, including the more popular cable modem, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), naked DSL, and T-1, fractional T-1 or T-3.

Do I need broadband Internet to use Times Telecom?
Yes! Your Times Telecom service is dependent on the speed and quality of your Internet connection. Anything lower will affect the voice quality. Times Telecom supports most broadband Internet connections including cable modem, Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL), Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), naked DSL, and T-1, fractional T-1 or T-3.

Conversely, you can bypass your Internet connection and access your Times Telecom account from your cell phone or any other phone. When you first sign up and register your cell phone or other phone number with Times Telecom, you will receive an access number and a PIN you can use towards making long distance calls on those phone numbers. Times Telecom network will automatically recognize your registered phone number and PIN, and will let you make calls to anywhere in the world, anytime of the day. We will then bill you according to the plan you choose. For example, if you have chosen the Talk All U Want World+ Plan, then you will be able to make unlimited calls to the countries listed in the plan at no extra charge! Learn more here.
